Biography

Elizabeth Escamilla Roa has a PhD in Computational Chemistry at the University of Granada, Spain. Clay minerals were the main topic in her PhD studies in the Computational Mineralogy research group (Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra). Subsequently, her research focused on phenomena of mineral surfaces, such as the process of adsorption and desorption of molecules onto different surfaces (clays, olivine, carbonates, pyrite and TiO2). These studies were applied in subjects related with the Catalysis and Astrochemistry. Recently, she was working on the experimental exploration of the crystalline growth of self-assembled tubular surfaces (Chemical Gardens).
